Coach With Me
Thank you for your interest in my coaching services! As a life coach, I work with individuals who have experienced a loss or trauma, with a special emphasis on early mother loss.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is different from therapy insofar that therapists help an individual achieve or return to optimal functioning. A coach’s task is to help an individual progress from “optimal” to “high-performance.” In a series of 50-minute sessions spaced in two-week intervals, I’ll help you identify and remove some of the obstacles that stand in the way of you being the very best you that you can be. We can do sessions by Skype or by phone, or in person if you live in Los Angeles.
What’s Your Approach?
I’m trained as a Martha Beck Life Coach. You may have encountered Martha’s work before: she’s published ten nonfiction books and has a column in O, The Oprah Magazine. Her coaches learn how to help others connect with their authentic selves through a combination of active listening, mind-body work, and experiential tools.
Narrative is a big part of my work. The stories we tell ourselves are part of our identities. We all have stories, patterns, and beliefs that we developed to help us face difficult times, and which may have helped us survive back then. But periodically, we can examine these coping strategies and ask if they’re still serving us well today.
My coaching is interdisciplinary and tailored for each client. Drawing from my work in the field of grief and loss for the past two decades; my academic background as a writer; and 27 years as an author and writing instructor, I’ll help you identify the stories that currently define you, review them together, and start rewriting any that are no longer helpful or true.
I believe you have most of the answers. I’ve accumulated degrees and books and awards, but truthfully, living has been my greatest teacher. I suspect it has been yours, as well. So I’d like to help you tap into your unique reservoir of experience and knowledge and draw from what’s already there.
What Does it Cost?
Each coaching program is composed of six 50-minute sessions spaced every other week, spanning a total of twelve weeks. The package of six sessions costs $575-$775 (single payment) depending on the program, or two separate payments of $300-$400 each.
How Do I Sign Up?
If you’d like to proceed, please schedule a free half-hour initial consultation below.
I’ll call you either by phone or by Skype on that day and time to discuss which issues are most pressing for you right now, and determine which program is the best fit. I’ll be honest about whether I think I can be of help. If we’re aligned, you can sign up for your six sessions and start right away.
I look forward to working with you!
